In this very budget-conscious world, people are always looking for ways to cut corners and save money. If you’re worried about coming up with a lot of cash for a little day trip, Jonesborough’s the perfect spot to visit. Why? Not only is it full of history and offers a myriad of cool stuff to do but there are also plenty of great things to do for under 10 bucks – and lots are even free. Since most of us are always interested in free activities, let’s start there. If you have little ones, Wetlands Water Park is a great place to visit, particularly during the hot and humid summer months. Kids age three and under get to enjoy the park at no cost at all (and it’s just $12 for adults).

Girls Getaway

It’s always great to be able to get away with some of your besties and if you’re looking for the perfect place to go with your gal pals, Historic Jonesborough’s got plenty to keep you entertained and busy! How you kick off your R&R time in Jonesborough has lot to do with the kind of mood you and your friends are in … do you want to shop first, be pampered, eat, head to the water park or take a tour? Shopping is generally pretty close to the top of the list and for good reason – there are all sorts of great places that are locally owned and operated. If you’re looking to add a few things to your closet there are some cool boutiques and some amazing one-of-a-kind gifts - who wouldn’t love handmade jewelry - and crafts (handmade quilt, anyone?). If you’re into art, there are wonderful little galleries and if antiques are your weakness you’re going to be over the moon in Jonesborough.

The Allure of Historic Jonesborough

Quick, what first comes to mind when you think about Jonesborough? For plenty of people, it’s the fact that the town is the oldest one in the entire state of Tennessee.
