Take part in the art of story sharing and active listening on March 25th when Listening Day returns. The McKinney Center and StoryTown will be hosting a Listening Day on Tuesday, March 25th from 9:00 am-12:00 pm at the Jonesborough Senior Center. Area residents are encouraged to come and share personal stories about moving to Jonesborough, immigrating to the United States, service stories from the Armed Forces, humorous tales about miscommunication, and cooking adventures gone wrong.

October’s edition of the StoryTown Radio Show will be a little different. Usually, the show is made up of multiple stories from real people, many of whom lived right here in Northeast Tennessee. Putting It Together, Part Five – What It Takes to Make a Radio Play

People often ask where we get our ideas for themes for the Radio Show. Some of the themes come from our annual potluck where the StoryTown Players, writers, and Story Brigade members gather to plan the upcoming season. In fact, this month’s theme of “Workaday World” came from our planning meeting this past January. Other themes are tied to specific months, like Black History Month and Women’s History Month. And some themes are tied to places. In 2025, we’ll be doing a special edition sharing memories of the Jackson Theatre in the Jackson Theatre.
