Each Saturday features free activities for the whole family and a different theme each weekend, including Whoville Christmas, Doggone Christmas and Fun With Frosty and Friends.

Churches in the historic district invite you in for the Christmas Church Tour, you can’t miss the magical display of the Lighted Christmas Parade and Santa will be in his sleigh for pictures. Enjoy free gift wrapping inside the Storytelling Center for any purchases made downtown.

Whoville Christmas

November 30 from 11 am-3 pm

Dr. Suess’ whimsy takes over, complete with the Grinch and other characters. Dress as your favorite Whoville character and get a “Grinch treat!” Plus enjoy Christmas movies at the Storytelling Center.

Small Business Saturday

November 30 from 10 am-8 pm

Come shop in downtown Jonesborough and enjoy extended shopping hours until 8 p.m. with lots of special incentives and give-a-ways at various businesses.

Annual Lighting of the Tree

November 30 at 6 pm

Jonesborough will kick off the Christmas season by lighting the Fraser Fir beside the Downtown Courthouse. Join in your favorite holiday carols and listen as a story is shared. Event ends with the tree lighting.

Doggone Christmas

December 7 from 11 am-3 pm

Christmas is going to the dogs in Downtown Jonesborough! Bring your furry friend for pictures with Santa, enjoy treats and more. Prizes will be given for Ugliest Christmas Dog Sweater, Best Holiday Costume and Dog/Owner Look-A-Like. Donations will also be accepted for the Washington Co. Humane Society.

Gingerbread House Workshop

December 7 at 11 am

Children ages 5-12 are invited to make a gingerbread  house at the International Storytelling Center. This free workshop provides one gingerbread  house kit, including gingerbread pieces, icing and candy pieces. Sign up here!

Fun With Frosty And Friends

December 14 from 11am-3pm

One of our most popular events, join us for Fun with Frosty & Friends. There will be lots of family fun  including pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, children’s storytelling, Santa Mart, games and more.  Fun With Frosty And friends will be held at the Visitors Center, Storytelling Center, Courthouse Square and Chuckey Depot.

Annual Lighted Christmas Parade

December 14 at 6pm

The parade will travel through the festively decorated historic district from Boone Street to Main Street. There will be approximately 50 holiday floats complete with music and festive lights.

Christmas Church Tour

December 21 from 11am-3pm

Churches in the historic district invite you to see decorated sanctuaries with sights and sounds of the season. Churches offer music, refreshments and more. Grab a map and guide at Storytelling Center or Visitors Center.
