Jonesborough has established itself as a town known for embracing all things local, whether that be grown or brewed. After welcoming the first craft brewery to Northeast Tennessee in 2004, Tennessee’s Oldest Town has become a leader in its region at supporting the locally grown and brewed scene. We’ve put together a list of the places you can visit to experience this first hand.

Depot Street Brewery

Being the first craft brewery in the region of Northeast Tennessee, it’s only right to have Depot Street Brewery first on this list. Brewed locally in small batches for the freshest taste and handcrafted with the finest ingredients from around the globe, Depot Street Brewing delivers a variety of unique brews for the discriminating beer lover.

East Tennessee Hemp Company

The East Tennessee Hemp Company’s roots run deep in Jonesborough. Offering some of the highest quality hemp products available, they pride themselves in being locally owned and locally grown. Stop by for a scoop or two of the town’s favorite ice cream from their dipping cabinet.

The Corner Cup

Fitting in beautifully with the quaint atmosphere of historic downtown Jonesborough, The Corner Cup provides a delicious coffee or latte to get your day started. While you’re there, make sure to try one of the scones made by Lazy Lady Bakes, which are made-from-scratch using locally sourced and organic products.

Boone Street Market

Boone Street Market is the perfect place to find truly local food. The store offers local farmers a new outlet to sell locally-raised items which have been grown within 100 miles of the store, making them Tennessee’s Only Producer-Only Grocery Store and Farmers Market. Boone Street Market also serves as the dining space for Jonesborough Locally Grown’s 100 Mile Dinners and Pop-Up Dinners. These multi-course dinners highlight different themes, Holidays, vendors, and showcase Northeast Tennessee’s food industry leaders. Boone Street Market even offers a to-go menu that features local, farm-fresh meals that make for the perfect lunch!

Tennessee Hills Distillery

With their motto being “embracing heritage”, Tennessee Hills Distillery uses age-old recipes and distillation methods to create premium quality spirits that are authentic and unique to the Tennessee hills. Visit their location nestled in the old civil war salt house where they offer free tastings.
