Get ready for the Cornbread Competition! Wow us with your best cornbread recipe at Jonesborough Days first ever Cornbread Contest! The contest will be hosted and judged by Hannah Dasher, creator of the “Stand by Your Pan” cooking show. You’ll also get to see Hannah Dasher perform live that evening on the Main Stage!
In the past, Jonesborough Days has hosted a tobacco spitting contest and a hot pepper eating contest! How do you think you’d fare in those competitions!?
Following the music lineup with the Country & Western theme, we host Shotgun Willie Live, a Willie Nelson tribute band from Branson, Missouri.
The Kickoff Dinner is an annual tradition, and there has been many different menus like BBQ and a Low Country Shrimp Boil, and this year it will have new menu. We will be having fried/baked chicken, an assortment of salads and vegetables, cornbread and fruit cobblers. Make memories at this event in a photo booth!
The festival has been voted as one of the top events in the southeast and is known for its community patriotism and nostalgic atmosphere. Various entertainment and activities take place throughout the historic district on both Saturday and Sunday including craft vendors, food vendors, a parade, Doc’s Front Porch and street performers.
