Join us in Downtown Jonesborough as we support our neighbors in need due to the recent flooding in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. With the focus being a handmade market, we are providing local makers a free outlet to sell their goods throughout downtown. With the cancellation of many local events in disaster areas, like the Apple Festival and Wooly Worm Festival just to name a few, lots of makers have lost significant revenue with October being a major financial driver for so many regional events. We are hoping this event can help offset some of the revenue lost.
We also encourage you to visit our local small businesses while downtown and shop or grab a bite to eat. Many of our shops are designating a portion of their sales that day to specific organizations helping with disaster relief.
And lastly and most importantly, we will also be collecting donations for those in need. The Jonesborough Community Chest, JAMA Food Pantry and the Jonesborough Police Department will all be there accepting various donations and spreading the word about ways you can help now and in the months to come. Stay tuned for specific donations you can bring the day of.
We hope you will join us in Downtown Jonesborough on Saturday, October 19th from 10am-4pm and help our neighbors in need. If you are a local maker who has been impacted by the recent events, please email millspringmakers@gmail.com about participating.
