Jonesborough has many unique places to explore and discover, one of those places is quite small. Tucked away in the green space beside Mill Spring Makers Market is Jonesborough’s Smallest Art Gallery. Located inside a small outdoor gallery is a public art project featuring a different local artist each month.
August’s featured artist is Amber L. Lundeen owner and creator of Makers Place Studio, a small-batch pottery studio. Inside the gallery are tiny, hand-painted canvases featuring local landscapes and architecture.
Lundeen stated she started miniature painting because with pottery, her work can be very time-intensive.
“The small canvases give me the ability to be creative in a faster-paced process.”
Lundeen said.
The Small Art Gallery gives many artists located inside Jonesborough’s Mill Spring Makers Market another opportunity to display their artwork. It also gives artists the chance to create art through a different medium or recreate their artwork at a miniature scale.
Be sure to check out Jonesborough’s Smallest Art Gallery each month to see featured local artists’ tiny art!
