StoryTown Radio Show: Workaday World

On September 23rd, the StoryTown Radio Show will hitthe stage with a brand-new show all about what people do all day. How do youspend your working hours? From educators to mental health care providers, pizzadelivery drivers to small business owners, farmers, and rocket scientists, wehave stories from multiple walks of life. This show will also feature theconclusion of the Shanks’ Oak story, recounting the long life of Jonesborough’sHeritage Tree that stood on West Main Street for hundreds of years.
StoryTown performs in the format of a live, old-time radioshow complete with sound effects, musical underscoring, live skits, uniquecommercials, and a great musical guest. Joining the cast this month are theMadrigal Singers from David Crockett High School. The Madrigal Singers areCrockett’s premiere singing group, and a fan favorite. We’ll also havestoryteller Laura Simms with us. Popcorn, candy, and drinks will be availablefor purchase during the show, and audience members can rent McKinney Center/StoryTownRadio Show seat cushions for just $2.00.
