StoryTown Radio Show “Gardens and Games”
April 22 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
This April 22nd at 7PM, StoryTown is back with a fun & energetic show about some of our favorite hobbies, gardening and gaming.
StoryTown performs in the format of a live, old-time radio show complete with sound effects, musical underscoring, live skits, and a great musical guest. This month’s show is all about the lessons we learn and the skills we develop through gardening and gaming. We have stories and advice from the local Garden Club, tales of victory and defeat from the Esports team at ETSU, and a look into what it’s like to work in a giant arcade from our friends and episode sponsors at Tiebreakers. We’ll also have part two of the harrowing story of a woman’s quest to save her husband during the Civil War. Will they make it home? Is there a garden or games in their future? Get your tickets and find out.
Joining the cast this month will be Portail du Son, a new artist for the StoryTown Radio Show. Under the direction of Stacia Howard, these musicians from the Superior Saxophone Studio put a whole new spin on chamber music. We’ll also have cornhole and other games on hand for folks to enjoy before the show starts.
The performance takes place on April 22nd at the McKinney Center at 7:00 pm. Shows last approximately an hour. Tickets are $10 and available online at Jonesborough.com/tickets or by calling the Historic Visitors Center at 423-753-1010.
The Radio Show is also recorded for broadcast on local NPR station WETS 89.5 out of Johnson City, which can be heard the last Wednesday of the month at 8PM. StoryTown is sponsored by Tiebreakers, the Tennessee Arts Commission, Gary and Sandee Degner, Trivia with Budds, the Silver Raven, Mountain Empire Cremation and Burial Services, and the Wild Women of Jonesborough.
