Join us Labor Day Monday in Historic Jonesborough for thefirst annual Jeeps on Main & Jerky Fest from 12 – 4 pm. There will bedifferent categories for jeep owners and a people’s choice award for bestJeep. 

Main Street will be filled with colorful Jeeps and downtownmerchants will be offering over 40 types of jerky. 

Jeep Adventure Park will offer games for all ages and youcan enjoy nostalgia with Bigfoot Classic croquet. Pickle ball is the fastestgrowing sport in the country and you can test your skills right on Main Street!A duck  race will also take place at 3 pm. 

The event will also offer the unique and fairly newtradition of Jeep ducking.  Included with tickets are ducks that peoplecan place on the hood of Jeeps along Main Street. The Jeep with the most duckson the hood will win the people’s choice award. 

What is Jeep Ducking?  Jeep ducking is a fun andlighthearted tradition among Jeep  owners where they attach rubber ducksto their dashboard. These rubber ducks come in various shapes, sizes anddesigns, adding a whimsical touch to the vehicle’s appearance.  

The practice of Jeep Ducking originated in a small town inCanada in 2020. A woman named Allision Parliament, from Ontario, randomlybought a bunch of rubber ducks from a convenience store and gave one to anotherJeep owner with a note that said, “Have a Great Day.” The intent was to bring asmile to the individual and spread a little cheer that we all needed during thepandemic.

This small interaction turned out much better than expected.The Jeep owner walked out of the store and at first, was confused when he saw arubber duck being placed on his Jeep. However, after reading the note that wasleft behind, it put a huge smile on his face. That night, DuckDuckJeep was bornafter being posted on Instagram and the rest is history.
