Virtual History Happy Hour: “The In-Cider’s Scoop” The History and Significance of Hard Cider

This month’s History Happy Hour will help you prepare forthe start of autumn with a program about a favorite fall beverage!
Join us as we welcome Kim Floyd and Jeff “Puff” Irvin fortheir presentation, “The In-Cider’s Scoop.” They will be talking about thehistory of apples and cider as well as the science behind the deliciousbeverage. Kim Floyd is the directorof the North Carolina Craft Beverage Museum, and Puff Irvin is the Director of the Craft Beverage Instituteof the Southeast at Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. The NorthCarolina Craft Beverage Museum is dedicated to preserving and interpreting thestate’s craft beverage story, and celebrates its role in building and defininga local, state, and national community. The Craft Beverage Institute of theSoutheast at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is designed tosupport the rapidly growing craft beverage industry in Western North Carolinaand the Southeast by providing curriculum and non-credit courses in brewing,distilling, fermentation and related business practices.
