The Girls on the Run 5K takes place Friday, May 10 at the new Jonesborough Elementary School, located at 720 North Cherokee Street. Pre-event fun begins at 6pm and the 5K begins at 7pm. Registration info here. You can also volunteer for this event, more information at

Girls on the Run is, as the name implies, a running program that works with area schools specifically with girls to help foster confidence and educate girls on the connection between physical and emotional health. This event is open to the community who can come and volunteer or run the 5K themselves.
