Jonesborough will celebrate the St. Patrick’s holiday with a fun run, a rock hunt, a sip and stroll event and of course, the clock tower will be turned green. The fun begins on Friday, March 12 and continues through Sunday, March 21.

 

The St. Paddy’s Family Fun Run

Friday, March 12 through Sunday, 21

Take part in the St. Paddy’s Family Fun Run anytime between Friday, March 12, and Sunday, March 21. Those taking part can run, walk, or jog the route which will begin at the Visitors Center and go through downtown along the Lost State Scenic Walkway to Persimmon Ridge Road.

Each participant is encouraged to snap a photo with the blarney stone, which you’ll find along the path, and tag us at Main Street Jonesborough on Instagram or Facebook. When participants end back at the Visitors Center, they can show their photo to the host at the front desk and receive a small prize pack filled with St. Paddy’s day goodies. The Visitors Center is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. The route will be dotted with signs guiding the way. The Fun Run is for all ages and there is no fee to enter.

 

Downtown at Dusk

Friday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m.

Downtown at Dusk is kicking off in 2021 with a St. Paddy’s themed evening on Friday, March 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. Purchase a ticket to enjoy beverage tastings at over 10 locations, along with a reusable stemless wine glass. The tastings offered include a variety of wines, beers, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic options, as well. This event is hosted by the Jonesborough Area Merchants and Service Association. Beverage tasting tickets are $20.

 

Jonesborough Rock Hunt

Kicking off on Friday, March 12

Embark on the Jonesborough rock hunt throughout downtown kicking off on Friday, March 12. Rocks will be hidden from the Chuckey Depot Museum all the way to the Jonesborough Visitors Center and everywhere in between. Look closely because you may even find a rock redeemable for a St. Paddy’s surprise at a Jonesborough business. If you find a rock with a business name written on the back, take the rock to that shop and receive anything from a free drink, a tasty treat, $5 off, or a small gift.
