DESCRIPTION:Ho\,ho\, ho! Come and meet Santa Claus at the Chuckey Depot Museum on Saturday\,December 18th from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm. DESCRIPTION:Looking for the perfect setting for your holiday card photo?The Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum has you covered! \n  \nStop by the museum on Saturday\, December 11th\,between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm for the chance to take a photo for your holidaycard! The restored parlor room will be decorated in the style of a VictorianChristmas\, featuring a tree trimmed with strung cranberries and popcorn\, brightgreens and fresh fruit\, and stockings on the mantle. We will also have tourguides in Victorian costumes on hand to help create the perfect holidaysetting.  \n  \nVisitors will have the chance to use their own cameras orphones to take their own photos for free\, or they can make a $3 donation toreceive a digital copy of a photograph from our photographer. Each group willhave a 5-minute time slot to take their own pictures\, and they will have thechance to pose for one photograph from our camera with the $3 donation. Due tolimited space and time\, we ask that groups be limited to 8 people or less. \n  \nThis project is funded under an agreement with the TennesseeDepartment of Environment and Conservation\, Tennessee Historical Commission. SUMMARY:"How the Grinch Stole Christmas" Readings/Program at the Chester Inn Museum
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum onNovember 27th for several readings of the holiday classic\, Dr. Seuss’sHow the Grinch Stole Christmas! Thisprogram is part of the town of Jonesborough’s “Whoville” holiday celebrationwhich takes place from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. This program will feature a readingof the “Grinch” in our restored parlor room as well as a display of holidayitems from our archival collection. We will also talk about the history ofVictorian holiday celebration customs and the practice of storytelling duringthe holidays. Each program will be approximately 35-40 minutes. \n  \nThis year there will be readings at 11:45\, 12:30\, 1:15\,2:00\, and 2:45. In an effort to provide a safe social distance for programattendees\, we will be limiting the attendance at each performance to the first20 people. Attendees can pick up their tickets at the Chester Inn Museum on the27th. Tickets for the first program will be available starting at11:00\, and tickets will be available for each subsequent program once thepreceding program is finished.
