SUMMARY:Storybook Trail Unveiling
DESCRIPTION:The Friends of Jimmy Neil Smith Park invites the community to celebrate the unveiling of the newest addition to the Jonesborough Storybook Trail\, The King of Little Things\, on Tuesday\, May 19\, at 5:00 p.m. at Jimmy Neil Smith Park\, located behind the International Storytelling Center in downtown Jonesborough. \nWritten by acclaimed storyteller Bil Lepp and illustrated by David T. Wenzel\, The King of Little Things is a witty and heartwarming fable that highlights the importance and power of life’s smallest moments and gestures. \nThe Storybook Trail combines literacy\, outdoor recreation\, and family engagement by allowing visitors to enjoy a story while walking through the park. The addition of The King of Little Things continues the Town’s commitment to promoting reading\, healthy living\, and meaningful experiences in nature. \nThe installation was made possible through the generous support of Harold and Nancy Dishner. \nAuthor Bil Lepp will attend the unveiling and provide remarks during the event. Community members will also have an opportunity to meet the author and enjoy the Storybook Trail firsthand. \nFollowing the unveiling\, Bil Lepp will perform live with the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild at 7:00 p.m. at the International Storytelling Center. Admission is $5 for adults\, $3 for students\, and free for children 12 and under. \nThe public is encouraged to attend this free community event and celebrate the newest chapter of the Jonesborough Storybook Trail.
