History Happy Hour: National Cemetery History

Are you interested in National Cemeteries? Learn about their history at the next History Happy Hour!
Join Burke Greear at the Chester Inn State Historic Site and Museum in Jonesborough on Thursday, July 18, as he discusses the history and evolution of the National Cemetery system. Mr. Greear is an education technician at the Andrew Johnson National Park, and the Andrew Johnson National Cemetery will be featured in his talk. He will also discuss the origin of National Cemeteries, the different federal agencies who maintain them, and the details that make these cemeteries some of the most meaningfully sacred and hallowed places in our country. The program starts at 6:30 pm and is free and open to the public!
