Fall is just around the corner and in Jonesborough that means all sorts of amazing things are about to happen.

The National Storytelling Festival returns for its 44th edition during the Oct. 7-9 weekend. The world-renowned event gives visitors – about 10,000 of who flock to the event each year – the chance to experience a weekend full of stories and tales from yesteryear.

While the customary Swappin’ Ground and Exchange Place traditions continue, there will be a host of wonderful featured storytellers, including Barbara McBride-Smith, Clare Mulreann Murphy, Donald Davis and Michael Reno Harrall that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Midnight Cabaret and Ghost Stories are just a couple of the special events that will take place during the National Storytelling Festival. Tickets are available now!

The 8th Annual Fine Art in the Park event, which will be held October 15th & 16th, is the only fine art outdoor show in the region. Taking place on the grounds of the International Storytelling Center in the heart of town, the show is a well-balanced selection of artwork categories, which include pottery, painting, textiles and jewelry.

After judging is complete, the show, which takes place from 10 a.m.-6 p.m., will open to visitors for viewing and purchasing.

And finally, Jonesborough wouldn’t be Jonesborough without Halloween Haunts & Happenings, which transforms the historic town streets into a gathering of ghosts, goblins, witches and super heroes on Friday, October 28th from 6-8 pm.
The free event features ghost stories, scary-oke, games and trick-or-treating. And a trip to the Haunted Wedding Chapel is a must!

Best of all, there is absolutely no cost for Halloween Haunts & Happenings, so bring the family for a scary good time!
